A Very Veggie Rookfest...

Ok; I'm sorry it's been so long. I do have an excuse. I got a new memory card in my camera; took tons of great photos of Maggie's birthday, etc. and my computer won't read the memory card. It's been very frustrating, but the birthday and other posts are going to have to wait until I can get it figured out. (By the way, she's 7 now; same age as her brother for a little while...)

Anyway, I've also been busy planning this year's Rookfest - A Very Veggie Rookfest, if you will. We will commence competition on Wednesday (day before turkey day) and hopefully, will have our winners and losers before bedtime.

The cast of characters:

Bob the Tomato (Dad- was there any question?)
Bob is a tomato (obviously) and is straight-laced and by-the-book. He is known as a narrator for Veggie-Tales, but also plays a character on occasion.





Madame Blueberry (Mom, not because she's blue, but because there aren't as many female veggie characters)
Is so blue-hoo-hoo; blue-hoo-hoo, blue-hoo-hoo-hoo; she’s so blue, she don’t know what to do. One of the many “fruits” who gets to be on Veggie Tales despite her classification in the plant kingdom.











Archibald Asparagus (Charles)
Archibald, or “Archie,” as he is known by his friends, is the resident intellectual. He wears an eyeglass (apparently, only having one bad eye) and usually has an answer ready for everything.








Larry (Lauri - yes I know, Larry's a boy, but Larry was Lauri's childhood nickname...)
Bob the tomato’s quirky sidekick. This cucumber is highly creative and an accomplished song-writer. Really loves his lips. May or may not have a lisp, depending on the day.







Larry-Boy (Scott, 'cause he's a super hero)
Larry the cucumber’s alter-ego. He is a super-hero who favors plungers on his head.












Petunia Rhubarb (Barb, who has been called Rhubarb many times in her life)
Petunia is a reporter who usually gets the scoop, unless an evil fruit leads her astray. Sporting a braid in her hair; she also likes to sing about her Sport Utility Vehicle.













Mr. Lundt (Andy, whose eyes go away when he smiles)
A decorative Spanish gourd who grew up in New Jersey and speaks with a Mexican-Spanish accent. A notable feature is his lack of eyes. He often wears a hat.















Laura Carrot (Sara, our resident carrot-top)
A middle child in the carrot family, Laura has two brothers, Lenny and Baby Lou. She also knows how to drive a milk truck. Junior Asparagus is her best friend.




The Peach (Dan, have you seen his hair lately?)
A peach who needs a hairbrush, because he’s got hair. One of the racier Veggie-Tales characters, he has appeared onscreen in only a towel.






Hopefully I will not come home with the ugly little boy or nudie gorilla. Time will tell...we'll keep you posted.
