Bunch of Stuff

I currently have three chairs, one desk, a dresser and a table in my dining room - that do not belong in there; along with a wreath, garland, a couple of baskets, boxes of t-shirts, bandanas, posters, baseball tickets, an ipad mini (wish I could keep that one in there...), a 30x40" framed picture and other things that I am forgetting about.  It's driving me a little batty. 

It will all get picked up on Friday; the CCS auction will be Saturday, and then life can resume as normal. 

Scott is currently in India on a mission trip - having the time of his life.  It's been so fun to get his emails and hear about the things he is doing and seeing.  We are all counting the days until he gets home.

In the meantime, I am wading through the piles and praying that the mega-storm headed our way somehow misses us.  I have a hair appointment tomorrow, and I really need the kids to be at school! Can I hear an "Amen?"  My hair appointments usually take about 2 hours (I have a lot of hair), and it's about the only time this week that I have scheduled to sit down.  I am really looking forward to it.  Sad, I know.

I am supposed to do interviews on three radio stations tomorrow morning starting at 7 am, and I'm wondering if my 4-wheel drive will make it.  (I did call someone to plow my driveway; have no idea how to even start the snowblower and don't want to be out there at 5:30 am doing that! The person I called knew Scott was on a mission trip and told me he would be happy to come and that I was NOT paying him for it.  Very kind.)

A few other highlights of my week: 
*Shattered the glass from the 30x40" picture all over my dining room table; and then shattered more of it in my driveway when hauling it out to the garbage.  I spent about 20 minutes in the sleet, picking tiny pieces of glass up off the driveway, so I wouldn't drive over it and get a flat tire.

*I've had Jake shovel out our carpetball table a few times since they want to use it for the auction in the Kids' Corner area.  Probably a waste of time, since we're supposed to get 15 inches of snow overnight.

*Made Mexican hot chocolate with the kids after school was dismissed early on Tuesday due to weather.  It was yummy - our neighbors brought it back from Texas for the kids.

*Went to Cherry Berry for a little pre-blizzard snack after school today; a couple of my friends had the same idea and it turned into a little impromptu party with all the frozen yogurt and such.  :)  Love happy accidents like that.

*Got a picture of the fried worms that Scott ate in India.  Ummm, could not have done that.

*Bought batteries for my fireplace blower in case the power goes out tonight.  I can still see the lights across the lake and the snow was supposed to start an hour ago, so I think it's going to miss us. (HA!)

*Bought a dresser, two round end-tables and a small chair and now I'm itching to get into my workshop.  I am working on some pieces for the hospital; and I have a desk and chair to do for a client; and a secretary to do for another client; those all need to be done ASAP.  I'm not sure I'm into having deadlines!  But the work sure is fun! I also bought ten old cabinet doors at the Habitat ReStore and I have some really fun ideas for those.  Can't wait to get started on all of it!!  Next week...  On a side note - I forgot that I had the big picture in the back of my vehicle (I had the glass replaced); and I bought two table and a chair.  We had to cram those in the back seat and wedge Jake in with them to get home.  The things my poor kids have to put up with. :)
